There were probably a dozen or more whales playing just off the lighthouse in Bonavista. Unfortunately they move so fast and without notice so these are the best shots I could get. It was exciting to watch them play and frolic.

| We had intended to do the Southern part of the Irish Loop along the coast, but it was so foggy and at times you could hardly see the side of the road, let along the coast. We turned around and headed inland and north to Bonavista instead. We had heard rumors there were whales hanging out there. |

| We are fascinated by the ruggedness of the terrain and the remoteness of the villages. |
