Sunday the 31st we hung out most of the afternoon at the campground getting things cleaned up and ready for the "next adventure". The Ferry back to Nova Scotia did not leave until 11:45 PM so we had a long time to hang out in the Ferry terminal, but we were first in line! Had a nice lunch and dinner in our little home on wheels and spent the afternoon reading and relaxing. The Ferry is actually very luxurious and the seats were like first class on a plane (or so I've heard since I've never flown there). We actually slept quite well.
Monday August 1 and the beginning of our 4th month on the road!!! In the morning we headed off to find a campsite near the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton. Found a nice cozy little place, hooked up and off we went to drive the entire Cabot Trail. It's very pretty, but to be honest a little disappointing after all the gorgeous and interesting places we saw in Newfoundland. It's very remote, not a lot of villages along the route and really mostly very hilly tree covered mountains or rugged shore lines. We had some wonderful chowder and mussels at a nice little restaurant by a lighthouse, but mostly it was a very long almost 9 hours of driving.
Today we will be heading over to catch the Ferry to Prince Edward Island. It's only about a 3 hour drive from here, but not sure when we will arrive so no advance reservations. No rush, we will catch it when we can. We'll probably spend about a week there. After that we want to go to Halifax and Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia, then across to catch the Ferry to St. John's and start our Southerly route to Maine. Getting awfully tired of no wifi and being so far behind with posting photos. We have seen some really incredible sights and I want to share!!! However, we know we won't come back this way so don't want to miss anything.
