July 26 St. Johns, Witless and Moose

A foggy start to our day of touring.

It was so foggy there were times we couldn't even see this building.  I actually got better sots the day before in town, looking up at it.  Lots of history here and in the visitor center they had a wonderful video enactment telling about the history.

As we drove throough all the colorful houses and the older business district down town you pass in to  the newer buildings and the contrast is like black and white.

When we got to the B&B in Witless the laundry was still up.  Clotheslines are an intricate part of life in Newfoundland and many of the clotheslines are in front of the houses, not hidden in the back.

Our room at Elaines B&B that looks right out over the water.  Very comfy.

Every room has an amazing view.  Unfortunately for most of our stay it was foggy so didn't really get to appreciate it as much as you normally would.  Still, it was a lovely time and we might some nice folks from England and Ontario.

Just across from the restaurant we went too was a small pond with all these models.  It was amazing!

The detail to the dioramas was amazing and since they are out in the elements they must be VERY well made.
