May 25 Cyndie & Neal's Lake Geneva, WI

We arrived today in Lake Geneva.   The morning we left the Kentucky Horse Park we plugged in Churchill Downs on the Google Maps/GPS and for the first time, we received a message that they were closed on Tuesday!  All the research we had done ahead, that never came up.  So, we made a decision and scratched it off the to-do list and headed up to Cyndie and Neal's.  It took two days of driving, but we arrived early this afternoon.  We stayed in Hillsboro, IN last night at a really cool location in the middle of some big farms.   Unfortunately the GPS took us down about 5 miles of rocky/gravel/dirt roads that had Fred driving about 8 miles an hour and shuttering every time a local came barreling by at 50!  The car was so dirty by the time we arrived it looked like we'd been out four wheeling in the dessert.  We would have turned around before we got there, but the road was too narrow. Good thing we didn't as it turned out to be a lovely spot.  As Juli and Jordan have often pointed out the amazing spots they have found wandering off the main road, we found ours.

If you get to Kentucky, be sure to put this on your list of places to visit and if you are camping we highly recommend it.

I just love the old barns along the road.  It is amazing that some are still standing, but somehow they do.

Definitely in farm country.

Charla Rose RV Park....our find along the dusty, gravely road to what seemed to be in the middle of nowhere.

The Iris are gorgeous here.

The view from the campground

The advantage of traveling in May and prior to Memorial Day weekend....hardly anyone there....YET!
