Florida State Caverns...AWESOME!



Our tour guide Kevin was most enjoyable.  He made the tour interesting and very informative.

Each cavern has a name, based on one of the formations in that cavern.  This one was called "Wedding Cake".

In one section of the cave the floor looked like a brain.  Other portions were smooth, but this section was full of nooks and crannies.  



This man passed by as I was taking a picture of this formation.  It looks like it's about to grab him.





This rock was used to guide the workers out of the cave if their lights went out when they were working on the caves.  They tied a rope to this rock and tied it around their waste so they could find their way back.   Without light the cavern is pitch black.  You can't even see you hand in front of your face.  

It's this moisture that creates the formations.  


This cavern is called Christmas tree
