Florida State Caverns,

The Caverns were well worth the mosquitoes!  They are much smaller than Carlsbad, but here you can be up close and personal with them.  Not that you can touch them, but you are much closer to them than in Carlsbad.  Of course those caverns are far larger and I guess more impressive, but if you have a chance to go here, you should.  Best time is right now in May.  In the summer it's hard to get in as they sell out very early for the day and the groups are much larger.  We only had about 19 in our group and that was very nice.  Also, best to go first thing in the morning.   The tour is only about an hour so we got a good start towards Memphis.  We made it to Oak Mountain State Park outside of Birmingham by 4:00, but made a wrong turn and ended up having to drive around the entire 10,000 acre state park to get to the campsite!  A little mis-navigation by the navigator. :-(
The ranger was kind enough to put us in the camp area for the stables, which was just inside the gate instead of back in the park another 6 miles!  We were exhausted by the time we got set up, but it was an ideal location and no complaints from us.

The baby goats climbed right in to the golf cart at feeding time.

The barn and stables right beside the camp area where we spent the night.
