June 6 Quick update

We have had such a wonderful visit with Cyndie, Neal, Emma and Timmy.  Hard to believe it's almost time to move on.  We head out again on the 8th for Door County.  The day after graduation Cyndie took Emma, her cousin Sarah and friend Maria tubing on Lake Geneva with Fred and I along for the ride.  What a fun time they had!  On Friday Fred and I took a train in to Chicago for the day.  Imagine that...Commuters!   The train was really neat, and a slick way to go in to the City.  We walked about 3 blocks to the Hop on/Hop off tour and got a great over-all look at the City.  After lunch we walked the length of Grant Park.  An extraordinary park in the center of the City and over looking the Lake.  By the time we got home we were totally pooped, but it was a really fun day and a great way to see the City on the fly.  Saturday was Emma's graduation party at the house with family and friends.  Sunday Neal and Emma took us to this incredible restaurant in Genoa City.  If you EVER get to this part of the country this is an absolute MUST do.  It's run by the family and Mrs. Fitzgerald meets you at the door, takes your order (Boiled Cod, BBQ chicken and or BBQ ribs) and your money (cash only).  It's incredibly reasonable and it's all you can eat.  They serve North Atlantic Cod boiled in traditional outdoor kettles year round.  They begin with boiled fresh potatoes and whole onions over a wood fire.  They may add the Cod to that batch or a separate pot, but when it comes out we all swore that Cod with fresh drawn butter tasted just like lobster!  DE-Licious!!
Today Fred and I took a walk up and down the main drag of Lake Geneva and ran in to someone from Sanibel who recognized us.   Later we walked along the shore line where some of those amazing houses are.  It's been really windy all day, so no chance to go boating.  Fred and I spent a good part of the day preparing the RV to hit the road again.  After two weeks in one place there was a lot to do.   Cyndie showed us a restaurant on William's Bay Called Pier 290, and since they had a meeting tonight Fred and I went back for dinner.  Outstanding!!  The Marina at the restaurant has been in business 140 years.  After a 3 year overhaul the restaurant was added and built/furnished with antique nautical pieces, various doors, boards bricks and fixtures recovered from historic properties all around Lake Geneva.  Fascinating building to explore.    AND...we ran in to someone else from Sanibel.  It really is a small world.
