July 7 Fredericton, NB update

Since the last post we have been very busy and continuing to have an absolute blast!
We made it to Franconia on Wednesday the 29th and stayed with friends Rick and Jennifer until July 4.  As always it was great fun to see them, but it was also like "coming home" to be back in Franconia and seeing old friends and acquaintances.  The Old Home Days parade was on Saturday and it was excellent.  In the evening we took our chairs to the Dow Strip for a concert by a young group that played all Beatles tunes and did an outstanding job!  This was followed by fireworks.  Couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable 4th of July celebration.  But then, like frosting on a cake, we joined Rick and Jennifer at her sister and hubby's home on the lake for an incredible party.  Also followed by fireworks over the lake.  There are of course MANY photo's that I will eventually get posted.
It took 3 days of driving, with many stops along the way, to get us in to Canada, but we made it last night around 6 PM (Atlantic time...we lost an hour).
We are currently in Fredericton, NB at one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in.  It's on the Saint John River, known for Bass and Muskie fishing.  On the other side are rolling hills with beautiful big farms and estates.  What a view!!  Spacious sites and a water park for kids that looks like a high end resort.  We may stay an extra day, just to scope things out here.  Also need to get a local phone for making reservations and pick up some Loonies.
We have been on the trip a little over two months now, but we did some calculations on how our expenses have gone for the first 2 months of the journey.
We have gone 3,901 miles, purchased $902.55 worth of gas and are getting 8.2 MPG
We have spent $1,175.97 for campsites averaging $21.78  per night for 54 of the nights.  Not counting Walmart or family driveways.
We have spent another $1,826 for tours and souvenirs and another $1,380.22 on miscellaneous STUFF.
We figure we are averaging about $35. A day for gas and campsites and a total of $88. A day for all.
We have not eaten out in a lot of restaurants, but have bought local foods in markets to cook at home. We are still working off the pantry and freezer foods we brought from home as well so no heavy grocery shopping as yet.  The thing we think that has made the most difference and kept our costs down is towing the car.  We have probably put well over 2500 more miles on the car touring.  We get to a campsite and take off in the car for the day.  I am sorry I did not get the original mileage when we left home on the car, but at the time I didn't realize how much we would be using it.
