Barefoot Adventure 2016: July 2nd 26th Annual Old Home Days parade, Franconia, NH

When we couldn't get in to Polly's we came to the Franconia Inn for a delicious breakfast. This is the Inn that brought me to Franconia in the first place. My dream Inn, but sadly, that dream did not come true. Always good to see it and see how well it's doing. Business was thriving, but we were able to get in right away.

The Rivagale was my Inn.

Kyla Miller was a good friend of Cyndie's and David G. and is Bodie Miller's sister. She now runs one of his foundations and "small world" her office is in the Rivagale.

I started the Parade 26 years ago with the help of Jennifer Gaudette who carried it on for YEARS after we left and here it is, still going strong. It was fun to see it being such a success and that it bring so many visitors to Franconia

These kids from the Tamarack Tennis Camp actually played tennis for the whole parade! Clever!!!

Fred was greeted by an old friend, Dolly McPhaul, who is running for State Senate. There were a LOT of politicians in the parade, but seeing Dolly was a real treat for Fred.

Behind that hand wave is Peter Gaudette.

I was Executive Director of the Chamber for several years after we sold the Inn.

The Duck Race in the Gale River makes great money for the Lions Club, also started 26 years ago. Fred and I are still waiting for them to call and tell us our Duck came in on the money!!

Took a drive through the Notch and stopped in to visit friends Dick and Sue in Lincoln.
